West Indies claimed a draw in the 2nd Test against England

The second Test between visiting England and hosting West Indies took place in Barbados. And just like the game in Antigua, this longest cricket format didn’t bring the winner.

England batted first and stopped with 507 for 9, allowing the hosts to chase a pretty solid result. And while the Windies took 411 runs, they showed that five days could not be enough to find the winner in the second Test. The pitch wasn’t nicely prepared for bowlers, who were quite weak in their attempts.

It was confirmed in the second innings of the teams. England took 185 runs in 40 overs with six wickets lost, giving a chance for the Windies to chase them down. However, the hosts were quite poor in their initial runs’ grabbing, taking only 39 for 3, signalling to forget about the victory. So, West Indies batters focused on getting a draw and played safely, finishing with 135 runs for five wickets in 65 overs.

It means that the Test series’ winner can be known in the final third game, which will be held in Grenada. Bowlers will hope to receive a better pitch with more chances for attack and claim more than 30 wickets per game for both teams. Want to know more about cricket and don’t miss the important news?
