England expanded their tour to Pakistan to seven matches

The respective cricket boards of England and Pakistan, ECB and PCB, agreed to organise another two games between the sides. The previous deal was about five games in September-October of the following year, including both men and women squads.

The idea of adding two matches appeared after New Zealand refused to visit Pakistan due to security concerns. Such a decision by the Kiwis meant huge financial losses for the home side, so they tried to push another top cricket team to stay longer.

In 2022, Pakistan will also host a series of matches with Australia, which are planned for March-April. That will be the opening of international cricket in Pakistan.

What relates to the English team’s visit, it will be the first meeting on Pakistani soil since 2005. The sides, however, can face each other much faster on the international scene. If they both win their semifinal matches, they will battle in the final of the T20 World Cup. Want to know more about cricket and don’t miss the important news?
