The second Test between the Aussies and Britishers confirmed the dominance of the hosting side to take another Ashes Cup.
This time the hosts won the toss and decided to bat. As the final score showed, it was the right decision. Australia’s batters scored astonishing 473 runs: Warner and Smith were close to the ton, while Labuschagne passed the 100 lines. The response of the guests was poor: only 236 runs, with the best result from Malan and Root (80 and 62 respectively).

The second half of the match wasn’t so great for hosts as they found only 230 runs, with only two batters to overcome a half-century. However, the forces of English bowlers were not supported by batsmen. None found even a 50, with frustrating 192 runs in total. Final score: Australia 473/9d & 230/9d – England 236 & 192.

The game showed that guests had no chances at any of the stages. With two astonishing defeats in opening games, England now has to fight for victory only. The draw in the next match will mean that the Aussies will protect their Ashes Cup. The next game between the sides will start on December 26.
