Pakistan lost the first ODI to Australia

After the Test series loss in the final game, Pakistan was full of desire to win the first ODI. So, after winning the toss, they decided to chase their opponents.

However, similarly to Tests, the Aussies were pretty good at batting first. Thanks to a ton by Head (from 72 balls) and mostly double-digits by other batters, the guests finished at a confident 313 for seven.

While 313 isn’t an unbeaten result, the hosts were way worse in their batting. Thus, the only duo that delivered enough runs was Azam (57) and ul-Haq (52*), but even they weren’t good in terms of SR. Ul-Haq led his batting to a century, but that was the only positive thing that day for Pakistan.

The hosts finished at 225 runs for 10, which happened five overs before the possible end. With a 88 runs advantage, Australia comes to the second ODI with confidence, while Pakistan has immediately to fix their problems on both sides of the pitch.
