Political reasons shifted Pakistan vs Australia cricket games from Rawalpindi

The first visit of the Aussies to Pakistan in almost 25 years now is shifted from the city Rawalpindi to Lahore because of security reasons. The political rallies are planned in nearby Islamabad before the elections, and officials decided to exclude even a potential risk for the visitors from Australia.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, who is an Interior Minister of Pakistan, suggested moving the cricket games from Rawalpindi. There, the Men in Blue and the Aussies had to play three ODIs and a single T20I.

Lahore, located much far away from Islamabad, is chosen as an alternative location for the cricket series. Want to know more about cricket and don’t miss the important news? Subscribe to cricket14.in and receive the latest updates to your email.
