The opening clashes in the IPL 2022 took place on the last weekend of March. Three teams gained their victories, while their opponent started the new season with defeats.
Delhi Capitals overcame Mumbai Indians in the tough game. Although the opening partnership of Sharma and Kishan brought solid 122 runs from 80 balls, the further batters failed their scoring opportunities and finalised 177 for 5 for MI. The response from DEL was confident; who scored needed 179 in 18 overs, with a crucial 200+ SR by Thakur and Patel, who helped to close the game along with Yadav’s 48.
Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore played a very interesting game with both teams scoring 200+ runs. With only two wickets lost, RCB’s batters scored 205, with 88 by du Plessis and 41 not out by Kohli. However, PBK responded with a stunning 208 in 19 overs, losing five wickets and double 43 runs by Dhawan and Rajapaksa.
