Quetta Gladiators vs Multan Sultans preview of the PSL match

The Pakistan Super League is gaining momentum with the game between two strong sides to preview this time. The reigning champions Multan Sultans will face one of the most uncomfortable opponents for them – Quetta Gladiators.

The start of the season was quite different for the sides, although they played only two games. The Gladiators lost their opening battle to Peshawar Zalmi in the thrilling game with 190+ runs per team. However, they immediately came back with a strong win over Karachi Kings, where they successfully bowled and then chased an opponent which had only 113 runs.

As for the Sultans, they started more successfully. The opening battle with the franchise from Karachi was quite easy, and the team from Multan chased 124 runs by Kings in the 18th over. The second battle was much tougher as Lahore Qalandars scored crucial 206 runs while batting. However, the Sultans were successful in chasing once again, delivering 209 runs with only two balls left.

With strong batting on both sides, the importance of bowlers’ efficiency grows significantly. Thus, the one from Gladiators, Nawaz, showed a good economy rate against the Sultans precisely, giving slightly more than six runs per over. On the contrary, Multan’s Tahir found two or more wickets in the games against a team from Quetta.

The start of the season looks better for the reigning champions. It forces bookmakers to see Multan Sultans as favourites of the encounter and offer 1.63 odds for their success. The home side, Quetta Gladiators, received 2.28 from the bookies as this opponent is quite uncomfortable for the Sultans. For instance, the Gladiators have a better opening partnership and more power plays against the champions and hope to continue this tendency. On the contrary, the Sultans will try to continue the efficiency of favourites, which won six out of seven matches this season.
